Eventually, 7 million trees and shrubs will be planted between London and Birmingham alone. HS2 is also funding new local native broadleaf woodlands and the restoring of existing ancient woodlands.
There are 52, ancient woodland sites in England. Where an ancient woodland is described as affected, in many cases this means a small section of an overall woodland is affected. For example, on Phase One of the route, 32 ancient woodlands are described as affected but in 19 of these the total area of loss is less than 1 hectare.

Phase 2a HS2 Phase 2a will extend the high speed rail line north from the West Midlands to Crewe, helping towns and cities across north western England, north Wales and Scotland benefit from it sooner. The flexible approach to learning allows students to complete the MSc in a minimum of two years subject to module availability to a maximum of five years. If you don't meet the requirements for direct entry you can apply for the MSc via the performance based admissions route.
